SriVaishnava Sampradaaya Foundation Course
SriVaishnava Sampradaya Foundation Course is an online FREE part-time course offered by Paramanadi Trust to lay a strong foundation for anyone wishing to study our SriVaishnava Sampradaya Granthas, Saastras, Aagama and Vaidika Prayoga.
One who has had Upanayanam has to necessarily do SandhyaaVandanam and other rituals and study the Vedas, Ithihasas, Puranas, Smruthis and Aagamas. Similarly, anyone who has had Samaashrayanam (PanchaSamskaara), has to take up the study of the commentaries on Arulichcheyals (Nalaayira Divya Prabandham) and Rahasya Granthas.
Study of Saastras, Aagama and Vaidika Prayoga require a sound knowledge of Sanskrit. Study of our Sampradaaya Granthas requires knowledge of both Sanskrit and Tamil. In the current state of affairs, the opportunity to undertake a proper study of these texts and languages is bleak.
Paramanadi trust fills this lacuna by providing a platform where SriVaishnavas can build a strong foundation to pursue study of our SriVaishnava Sampradaya Granthas, Saastras, Aagama and Vaidika Prayoga with the help of the finest scholars. By the end of the course, SriVaishnavas will also be able to speak, write and understand Sanskrit.
Who can Join
Any SriVaishnava who has had Upanayanam and Samaashrayanam and aspires to:
- Learn Sanskrit
- Enjoy our Sampradaaya Granthas
- Become a Vidvaan or an Upanyaasaka
- Be an Archaka
- Be a Vaidika Purohita (Upaadhyaaya or Vaadyaar)
can join the Foundation Course.
Teachers
Budding bright scholars who have been studying Shaastras and SriVaishnava Sampradaaya for many years and have devoted their lives to the spread of SriVaishnava Dharma will handle the classes. There will also be special invitees who will deliver guest lectures on certain topics.
Medium of Teaching
This Foundation course is taught online over Google Classroom in Google Meet. Periodic interactions, assessments and guidance are part of the class.
Timing
The classes are held from 6:30 pm to 8 pm (IST) on Saturdays and Sundays. Recordings of the classes are also made available for those who are not able to attend the live class.
Fees
No fees is required.
Course material
Students will be provided with the soft copy of most of the course materials and will be guided to purchase the hard copies of materials as needed.
